Our Story
AHL Apparel was born out of a passion for slow fashion and the belief that clothing should be both stylish and sustainable. What started as a university project in 2020 has flourished into Belfast’s leading name in unisex streetwear and unisex loungewear — a brand dedicated to creating quality garments that are designed to last, not just for a single season.
Where It All Began
After graduating from Ulster University with a first class honours degree in Textile Art, Design and Fashion, I launched a small business called AHL Custom, specialising in customised goods and professional workwear from my home conservatory. That experience taught me the value of hard work, creativity, and craftsmanship — the foundations that would later shape AHL Apparel.
During my Master’s studies, I focused on the social and environmental impacts of fast fashion, with a particular interest in digital embroidery. What was meant to be a one-off project quickly evolved into something much bigger: the idea for AHL Apparel.
Building AHL Apparel
Together with my dad, I built my very own home studio where every piece of apparel is designed, embroidered, and printed with care. AHL Apparel is a one-woman show — I personally manage everything from product design and production to packaging, social media, and customer care.
We don’t run big factories or mass production lines. Instead, every piece is created in small batches, ensuring durable clothing with minimal waste. This approach reflects our commitment to sustainable fashion, ethical fashion, and eco-friendly fabrics.
From Project to Movement
What began as a university project in 2020 has grown into one of Belfast’s most recognised streetwear and loungewear brands. Over the last few years, we’ve attended more than 50 pop-up shops across Belfast and Northern Ireland, showcasing our most popular collections at venues including:
